Is there a character limit for player names on jerseys?
Our standard name block comfortably fits up to 14 characters across the back of a jersey. Names longer than 14 characters can be accommodated with a slightly reduced font size or a two-line stacked format. We'll show you a mockup of any long name before production so you can approve the layout.
What font styles are available for player names?
We offer 20+ pre-approved team font styles ranging from classic block lettering to modern athletic scripts. Each font is tested for readability at regulation viewing distances. You can choose one font for the entire team or, in some cases, mix font families for names versus numbers. Our design team will send you a font sheet with your initial mockup.
Can player names be placed on the front of the jersey instead of the back?
Yes. While back placement is the most common, we offer front placement above the number, back placement only, or both front and back. Some leagues and governing bodies restrict front name placement, so check your rulebook before selecting a dual-placement option. Our design team can advise on what's permissible for your competition level.
Do NFHS rules regulate how player names must appear on jerseys?
NFHS rules do not mandate player names on jerseys but do set standards when names are used — including minimum legibility requirements. Our name sizing and placement templates are built to satisfy NFHS standards by default. If you're playing under a different governing body such as USA Volleyball or NCAA, let us know and we'll adjust accordingly.
Can I add names to jerseys I already ordered without names?
Unfortunately, sublimated names cannot be added to a jersey after it has been produced — the dye is applied to the blank fabric during manufacturing, not on top of a finished garment. However, if you have existing jerseys you'd like to continue using, we can produce matching name-bearing jerseys in the same design for players who need them, then blend the sets together.
Are rush orders available for custom name jerseys?
Yes. Rush production (7–10 business days after artwork approval) is available for an added fee. Because each jersey in a name order is unique, our production team processes name data carefully before printing, so we ask that you submit a complete, final roster before we begin. Last-minute name changes after production starts cannot be accommodated without a reprint charge.
How do I collect and submit the roster of player names?
After placing your order, we'll send you a roster template spreadsheet. Fill in each player's name exactly as it should appear on the jersey — including capitalization and spacing. Return the completed template to your account manager. We'll include the name data in your mockup proof so you can verify every player before we go to print.

What happens if a player name is misspelled on a delivered jersey?
If a name error occurs due to a production mistake on our end, we replace the jersey at no cost with priority turnaround. To prevent errors entirely, every name jersey order includes a player-by-player proof confirmation step — you receive a visual layout of each jersey with the exact name and number as it will be produced, and production does not begin until you approve every individual proof.
